Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to announce its monetary policy for the fiscal year 2081/82 this coming Sunday, Shrawan 6. The central bank has already completed the draft of the policy, with the final details being hammered out in a management committee meeting held yesterday.
Originally, the policy was scheduled to be finalized and approved during a board meeting on Friday morning. However, Dr. Prakash Kumar Shrestha, Executive Director of the Economic Research Department at Nepal Rastra Bank, confirmed that the public announcement has been rescheduled to next week.
This upcoming policy will outline NRB’s strategic economic directives for the fiscal year, addressing key issues such as inflation control, interest rates, and banking sector regulations. The monetary policy is eagerly awaited by financial institutions, businesses, and investors, as it will set the tone for the economic environment in Nepal for the coming year.
